The bumper-to-bumper warranty offers exclusionary coverage. This means it covers any repair except for a list of exclusions stated in your contract. It lasts for 4 years or 50,000 miles, which is average compared to other automakers. Some companies offer 3 years/36,000 miles while others offer 5 years/60,000 miles.
In addition to covering mechanical breakdowns, this warranty also includes tires. Cadillac will cover a portion of the new tire cost and all of the labor to replace tires before 50,000 miles.
Cadillac Warranty Exclusions
The bumper-to-bumper plan covers repairs due to defects in materials and workmanship. In other words, it covers breakdowns when something goes wrong. But it doesn’t cover parts that are expected to wear out like tires or air filters. (Cadillac covers one maintenance service, which we’ll explain separately.)

Parts Warranties

Corrosion Warranty
There was a time when cars would have rust problems within just a few years, especially in areas that salt the road in winter. Dealers used to make a fortune selling undercoating and rustproofing products.
Fortunately, automakers today use very sophisticated and thorough corrosion protection measures in production, and corrosion warranties reflect that progress. Cadillac’s corrosion warranty has two parts that cover defects in materials and workmanship:
- All body and sheet metal components are warranted against rust for 4 years/50,000 miles.
- Any sheet metal that rusts through, causing an actual hole in the sheet metal, is covered for up to 6 years/unlimited miles.
Cadillac says that aftermarket rustproofing products are not needed under this warranty coverage, and that using them “may create an environment which reduces the corrosion resistance built into your vehicle.” What’s more, should the use of aftermarket products lead to rust damage, the Cadillac warranty will not cover it. Bottom line: pass on the rustproofing.
Cadillac Free Maintenance Services
Your vehicle’s first oil change, tire rotation, and multi-point vehicle inspection are all covered under warranty. Cadillac also offers prepaid maintenance plans that cover oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid top-offs. Terms run from three to six years, which can cover about six to twelve service appointments.
Under its old program, Cadillac included less powertrain warranty coverage at 4 years/50,000 miles, but its maintenance benefits lasted for a longer period. So, while you lose some of the free maintenance with Cadillac’s current plan, you gain 2 years/20,000 miles in powertrain coverage at a critical stage in the vehicle’s service life.
